Staff Sgt. Herbert Hailey, who entered the May 2026 workshop with no prior platform experience, developed an automated awards eligibility review system using the Army’s Vantage platform. Within the Recruiting and Retention Battalion, the prototype eliminates 483 hours of manual labor per award cycle. The tool remains fully operational, marking a significant departure from theoretical training.

Maj. Christopher Hales also produced a functional leadership data dashboard during the same session, further reducing time burdens for senior commanders. Both soldiers received formal recognition from National Guard Bureau Chief Gen. Steven S. Nordhaus and Oklahoma Adjutant General Maj. Gen. Thomas H. Mancino. According to Skillquest CEO Corbin Fonville, these projects demonstrate how rapid, data-focused training allows personnel to solve organizational bottlenecks immediately after leaving the classroom.
