Robbins Geller Launches Securities Probe into Jefferies Financial Group

San Diego-based Robbins Geller Rudman & Dowd LLP has opened an investigation into Jefferies Financial Group regarding potential securities law violations. The firm is examining whether the investment bank and its top executives misled investors or withheld material information concerning the company's financial health and exposure.

The inquiry follows a series of reports surrounding the collapse of auto parts manufacturer First Brands Group. In October 2025, investigations revealed that Point Bonita Capital, an asset-management unit under Jefferies, was owed approximately $715 million tied to First Brands' supply chain. Reports from The Wall Street Journal indicated that First Brands had struggled with a $2 billion deficit and off-balance-sheet debt while working with Jefferies to refinance nearly $6 billion in corporate loans.

Following these disclosures, the U.S. Department of Justice initiated an inquiry into the bankruptcy of First Brands and its dealings with creditors. Robbins Geller is now seeking information from investors who suffered losses or individuals with knowledge of the firm's involvement. Attorneys Ken Dolitsky and Michael Albert are leading the outreach, urging those with relevant details to contact the firm directly.
