The collaboration connects Industrial Defender’s two decades of asset visibility—covering firmware versions, configurations, and patch levels—with Fortress’s AI-powered risk assessment engine. This integration allows security teams to map newly disclosed vulnerabilities directly to specific embedded components across their networks. Instead of relying on generic severity scores, the system prioritizes threats based on operational context, such as asset criticality, physical location, and network connectivity.
For operators in sectors like energy, defense, and manufacturing, the tool provides audit-ready evidence for compliance frameworks including NERC CIP and NIS2. According to George Kalavantis, CEO of Industrial Defender, the primary challenge for security leaders is the speed at which AI-assisted research uncovers software flaws. Alex Santos, CEO and co-founder of Fortress, noted that the joint solution enables teams to keep pace with these disclosures by automating the path from detection to a defensible record of remediation.
