Sell Wasabi Opens E-Commerce Acquisitions to Independent Buyers

Sheridan-based Sell Wasabi has launched a two-sided marketplace designed to democratize access to vetted Shopify and direct-to-consumer businesses. By removing the need for insider referrals, the platform allows prospective owners to review profit, revenue, and store age data directly, aiming to professionalize the acquisition of cash-flowing digital storefronts.

The platform functions as a brokerage rather than a fractional ownership vehicle, granting buyers full equity in the businesses they acquire. To mitigate risk, all transactions utilize a third-party escrow process, which secures funds until all sale conditions are satisfied. This structure is intended to bypass the opaque, invite-only circles that have historically dominated the e-commerce secondary market.

Co-founder Daniel Kenny, who previously scaled his own e-commerce brands, launched the site in 2024 to formalize the exit process. Sellers can list their businesses with no upfront fees and target a 30-day exit window, while buyers receive access to a network that has already facilitated eight-figure deal volumes. For those without prior e-commerce experience, the firm offers an optional management service, allowing new owners to maintain a hands-off role while the company provides ongoing operational support. With over 100 transactions completed, the marketplace relies on a dedicated team to manage the matching and due diligence phases for both parties.
