Bertram brings three decades of experience at the intersection of defense, government, and technology to the non-profit. His career includes leadership roles at Amazon Web Services, Dell Technologies, and Google Cloud, where he was noted for scaling public sector partner ecosystems. He succeeds Chris Cassidy, who led the Foundation through its launch period. The Museum has quickly gained national prominence, earning recognition as the Best New Museum in America by USA Today and receiving honors from the Prix Versailles.
Charlotte Jones, Chairman of the Foundation’s Board of Directors, noted that Bertram’s background in high-growth technology sectors aligns with the organization's goal to amplify the values of courage and sacrifice. The Foundation currently operates the Museum, the Griffin Institute—which has reached 300,000 students—and plans for a monument in Washington, D.C. For Bertram, the appointment represents a return to his roots in service, having begun his career as a commissioned officer in the 82nd Airborne Division. He intends to focus on deepening the institution's impact and ensuring the legacies of Medal of Honor recipients continue to resonate with future generations.
