Tutu School Expands Global Footprint to 125 Boutique Ballet Studios

With more than 125 locations now operating across the U.S., Canada, and the U.K., the boutique ballet franchise Tutu School is scaling its joy-first approach to early childhood education. The brand reports consecutive months of double-digit same-store sales growth, signaling a surge in demand for screen-free physical enrichment.

Founded in 2008 by former professional ballerina Genevieve Custer Weeks, the franchise prioritizes imagination and confidence over technical perfection. By focusing on children ages 6 months to 8 years, the program offers a departure from traditional, competition-heavy dance schools. This mission-led model has attracted recognition from Franchise Business Review, which recently named the company among its Top 200 Franchises and Top Innovation honorees.

Beyond studio walls, the brand is pushing to counteract digital saturation through its involvement in the Generation Real Project. This initiative connects youth organizations that serve over one million children annually, advocating for in-person creativity and social development. The company’s growth strategy remains centered on identifying entrepreneurs—often educators or parents—who aim to balance business ownership with community-focused impact. As the network expands, a newly formed Pirouette Council of experts in wellness and advocacy will guide the curriculum to ensure that early dance experiences continue to foster emotional well-being and inclusivity.
