The collaboration centers on combining IDE892, an investigational MTA-cooperative PRMT5 inhibitor from IDEAYA, with Genentech’s experimental KRAS G12D inhibitor, GDC-7035. Under the agreement, Genentech will sponsor the clinical study, while IDEAYA provides the necessary supply of IDE892. Both companies have committed to joint governance of the program while retaining full commercial rights to their respective compounds.

This patient population represents a significant hurdle in oncology, as MTAP deletions and KRAS G12D mutations co-occur in approximately 15% of pancreatic cancer cases. Currently, these patients lack approved targeted treatment options. By inhibiting PRMT5 alongside the KRAS G12D mutation, researchers aim to achieve more durable therapeutic responses than standard monotherapies. IDEAYA’s CEO Yujiro S. Hata noted that the company is actively advancing multiple rational combination strategies for IDE892, building on its profile as a potential best-in-class agent with high selectivity and favorable drug-like properties. The trial adds to IDEAYA’s broader efforts in synthetic lethality, which include ongoing studies in solid tumors and planned cohorts with other Roche compounds scheduled for the second half of 2026.
