Big V Property Group Opens Retail Real Estate Access to Individual Investors

Charlotte-based Big V Property Group has launched Big V Direct, a digital portal designed to grant accredited investors entry into institutional-grade retail real estate. By bypassing traditional barriers, the firm aims to allow individuals to participate in ownership of open-air shopping centers alongside established institutional partners.

The platform focuses on the power center format, a sub-asset class that has gained significant traction in the post-pandemic market due to shifting consumer preferences for value and convenience. Historically, direct investment in $100 million retail portfolios remained out of reach for most individual participants. This new channel formalizes the firm's previous private investment practices, extending their long-standing 'friends and family' model to a broader network of qualified backers.

Jeffrey Rosenberg, Chairman and CEO of Big V Property Group, stated that the initiative leverages an eight-decade track record to offer investors the chance to participate in properties they frequent. The firm currently manages over 9.5 million square feet across 14 states, maintaining high occupancy rates through a vertically integrated approach that handles acquisition, management, and development in-house. Each asset undergoes rigorous evaluation to meet specific long-term investment criteria before reaching the platform.
