Company president Scott Wyman described the work as a necessary step to maintain reliable service for the community. The initiative aligns with a decade-long effort by the utility to modernize aging infrastructure across the state, a program that has seen over $805 million in capital upgrades and the installation of 168 miles of new water mains since 2016. According to company data, these investments are projected to stimulate local economies, with estimates suggesting that every $1 million spent on water systems creates approximately 10 jobs.
