The transaction, valued at approximately 2.7 billion Swedish krona, encompasses the rights to sanitary pads, liners, and tampons currently held by Kenvue subsidiaries. For the twelve-month period ending June 30, 2026, the acquired business generated net sales of 800 million Brazilian reais. Essity CEO Ulrika Kolsrud noted that the move aligns with the company’s broader strategy to expand its influence in high-value categories, building upon its existing presence in the region through its TENA incontinence products.
Finalizing the deal hinges on regulatory approvals in Brazil and the successful completion of a separate transaction between Kimberly-Clark and Kenvue. If conditions are met, the acquisition is expected to close in the second quarter of 2027. This expansion follows Essity’s February 2026 purchase of the Carefree, Stayfree, and o.b. brands in North America, signaling a consistent push to dominate the global feminine care market.
