American Teachers Alliance Schedules National Summit in Raleigh

With public discourse often mired in debate, the American Teachers Alliance is shifting the focus toward educator morale. On October 3, 2026, the organization will host a one-day national summit at the Hampton Inn & Suites in Raleigh, North Carolina, aiming to provide a rare blend of professional development and levity.

The event, running from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., seeks to counter the prevailing negativity surrounding public education. Amy Marshall, an 18-year veteran educator and the organization's executive director, designed the gathering to offer a reprieve from typical conference structures. Keynote speaker Carrie Grace will lead the programming, supported by comedy sets from Leslie Rob and Gerry Potoka, who specialize in turning the daily grind of the classroom into relatable humor.

Beyond the performances, the summit offers practical workshops covering leadership, communication, and classroom management. Attendees can earn up to eight hours of professional development credit, with certificates provided for submission to local school districts. Early-bird registration remains open until September 25, with tickets priced at $30 for ATA members and $50 for non-members. Due to venue constraints, capacity is capped at 150 participants.
