Jamaica Launches OpenJM to Secure Regional AI Sovereignty

Crimsontide AI Limited has unveiled OpenJM, a multimodal platform tailored for the Caribbean that prioritizes long-term memory and autonomous task execution. By integrating a locally trained model, Rahkia V1.0, the system aims to provide regional industries with a secure, private alternative to conventional global AI infrastructure.

At the platform's core is a memory-centric architecture designed to retain institutional knowledge and discard irrelevant data, allowing for sustained personalization across sessions. This stands in contrast to standard AI models that struggle with short-term context limitations. The system operates via the OpenJM Harness, an agent runtime that enables AI to plan, adapt, and interact with third-party applications or local files. Organizations can deploy this technology on-premise or within private clouds, a move intended to bolster data sovereignty and regulatory compliance.

CEO Anu stated that the project seeks to strengthen Caribbean ownership of its digital future, empowering institutions to govern and scale operations independently. The platform's potential applications span sectors from healthcare and education to public-sector document processing. CTO Daniel emphasized that the project serves as proof that the region can compete in global AI innovation while maintaining local control. Crimsontide AI is now pursuing partnerships with regional governments and universities to integrate these multimodal workflows into broader professional environments.
