The credit, processed on July 27, stems from the company's PFAS Litigation Universal Credit Rider. This mechanism allows the utility to pass settlement proceeds directly to households as soon as funds are secured from legal agreements. While financial restitution reaches customers, the company is simultaneously working to meet evolving water safety standards. Pennsylvania American Water has already finalized treatment upgrades in several local systems and has earmarked approximately $321 million for further infrastructure expansion across the state. The utility maintains that its current operations remain in full compliance with drinking water regulations.
