Shares of Vizsla Silver tumbled 10% to C$5.62 after the company reported a grim update regarding its operations in Mexico. According to the firm, families of 10 employees abducted from a project site informed management that the workers were found dead. Vizsla Silver stated it is currently awaiting official confirmation from Mexican authorities regarding the incident.
Corporate Activity and Market Shifts
Beyond the mining sector, Bombardier shares rose 1.9% to C$251.88 following its acquisition of U.S.-based Velocity Maintenance Solutions. The move aligns with the jet maker’s strategy to scale its high-margin maintenance, repair, and overhaul business. Meanwhile, Aimia climbed 5.2% after announcing a deal to sell its stake in Giovanni Bozzetto to One Equity Partners for as much as C$271 million.
In a volatile session for legal tech, Dye & Durham shares plummeted 15% to C$3.55. The sell-off occurred as the stock resumed trading for the first time in eight weeks, following the lifting of a cease-trade order that had sidelined the company since earlier this year.
