Emily Compagno Named Permanent Co-Host of The Five

After years of contributing to the network's daytime lineup, Emily Compagno is moving to the prime-time stage. Fox News Media CEO Suzanne Scott announced today that Compagno will join the permanent panel of The Five, the network's top-rated program, beginning September 8, following a successful tenure on Outnumbered.

Compagno steps into the new role as The Five continues to dominate cable ratings, boasting an average of 3.6 million viewers during the second quarter of 2026. Her arrival marks a significant shift for the show, which recently celebrated its 15th anniversary and consistently outperforms major broadcast staples in viewership. She will join core hosts Greg Gutfeld, Dana Perino, and Jesse Watters, while the program’s rotating seat for liberal commentators remains part of the broadcast format.

Before transitioning to television, Compagno built a career in law, serving as a federal managing attorney and practicing criminal defense. Her background includes a judicial clerkship at the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit and international legal work in South Africa and Brazil. Since joining Fox News in 2018, she has balanced her on-air duties with a writing career, reaching the top of the New York Times bestseller list with her book, Under His Wings. As she vacates her seat on Outnumbered, the network expects to name a replacement for her previous position in the coming weeks.
