Scalable Capital integrates AI chatbots into investment platform

German brokerage Scalable Capital has opened its investment platform to major AI tools, allowing clients to analyze portfolios and execute trades through ChatGPT and Claude. This integration marks a European banking first, providing users with new channels to manage assets beyond traditional mobile applications and websites.

Co-CEO Erik Podzuweit characterized the move as an initial step toward broader AI adoption, acknowledging that some investors remain cautious about granting external models access to their financial data. While he anticipates that AI-driven analysis could lead to improved investment returns, he emphasized that the long-term impact on portfolio performance remains unproven.

Founded in 2014, the Munich-based firm currently manages over €60 billion in assets for more than 1 million clients across Germany, Austria, Italy, Spain, France, and the Netherlands. By lowering barriers to entry with simplified, low-cost digital tools, Scalable continues to challenge established German lenders. The company is already preparing for the next phase of its strategy, which involves embedding these artificial intelligence capabilities directly into its proprietary application.
