Starting August 24, 2026, the Franklin OnChain U.S. Government Liquidity Fund (grBENJI) became available via the HashKey Exchange Earn Channel. The product targets eligible professional investors seeking yield from U.S. government money market instruments and dollar-denominated cash assets, all managed through blockchain-enabled protocols. This move signals a deliberate shift toward integrating real-world assets (RWA) into the regulated digital ecosystem.
Haiyang Ru, CEO of HashKey Exchange BG, described the launch as a milestone that addresses surging demand for compliant, on-chain yield solutions. For Franklin Templeton, which manages $1.80 trillion in assets, the deal serves as a strategic expansion into Asian markets. Chetan Karkhanis, SVP of Digital Assets Client Engagement at Franklin Templeton, noted that the firm intends to leverage HashKey’s multijurisdictional presence—spanning Hong Kong, Singapore, Tokyo, Dubai, and Bermuda—to eventually roll out a broader suite of tokenized investment products. Access remains restricted to professional investors in accordance with local regulatory requirements.
