Pennsylvania Housing Finance Agency Launches PHARE Impact Reporting

Since 2012, Pennsylvania’s PHARE program has funneled over $450 million into nearly 2,300 housing initiatives. The Pennsylvania Housing Finance Agency is now formalizing this transparency with the release of its inaugural semi-annual progress report, offering residents and local officials a granular view of state-backed housing investments.

The report provides a real-time assessment of projects funded through the Realty Transfer Tax and the Marcellus Shale Fund. By tracking both closed projects and active developments, the agency aims to give community practitioners a clearer picture of how affordable housing rehabilitation, construction, and support services are being deployed across the Commonwealth.

PHFA CEO Robin Wiessmann stated that the initiative is designed to grant deeper insight into one of the state's most vital housing programs. The agency plans to update this dataset every six months, utilizing information gathered from grantee reporting to ensure local leaders and housing advocates have access to current spending and impact figures. The newly released documents include a comprehensive data dictionary and a detailed progress report, both accessible via the PHFA website.
