NAVER D2SF Backs Startup F4GE to Link Korean Factories with Global Defense

With global defense procurement demand outstripping existing production capacity, Seoul-based startup F4GE has secured its first institutional funding round led by NAVER D2SF. The company aims to bridge the gap between Korea’s 60,000 fragmented manufacturing sites and international buyers by digitizing factory data for global supply chain compliance.

F4GE, founded in January 2026 by CEO Hyukhyun Kwon, operates as a programmable manufacturing network. By deploying proprietary software into existing facilities, the startup standardizes equipment data, captures tacit worker expertise, and automates documentation required for rigorous standards like the U.S. Department of Defense's Chain of Custody. This process allows traditional factories specializing in casting, machining, and molding to enter global value chains without requiring costly, large-scale system overhauls.

Following this investment, which also included participation from KNET Investment Partners, Sazze Partners, DCAMP, and 500 Global, F4GE plans to scale its operations across manufacturing hubs in Busan, Changwon, and Sacheon. Sanghwan Yang, head of NAVER D2SF, noted that the move aligns with the broader industrial AI initiatives of TEAM NAVER. The venture arm is currently seeking further startups in the defense and manufacturing space, with an open call for applications running through October 25.
