Neuberger High Yield Fund Expands Leverage by $35 Million

The Neuberger High Yield Strategies Fund is scaling its financial capacity, securing a $25 million increase in revolving debt alongside a $10 million expansion of its Series D preferred share offerings. This maneuver aims to recalibrate the fund’s leverage profile following a transferable rights offering completed earlier this year.

The Board of Directors finalized these adjustments to align the fund’s debt structure more closely with its current asset base. Under the revised terms, the New York-based fund will command a total committed debt facility of $135 million, supplemented by $50 million in outstanding Series D Preferred Shares. Management expects to finalize all documentation and closing conditions for these instruments within the coming week.

This strategic shift follows a period of portfolio adjustment for the NYSE American-listed fund. By expanding its available leverage, the firm intends to better support its investment objectives in the high-yield market. Neuberger Berman, which oversees approximately $613 billion in global assets, continues to emphasize active management and fundamental research as the core drivers of its investment strategy.
