Nasuni Buys DryvIQ to Centralize Unstructured Data Governance

Nasuni has acquired DryvIQ, a specialist in intelligent data management, to bolster its platform with AI-powered content classification and security. By integrating DryvIQ’s capabilities, the company aims to help enterprises gain visibility over unstructured data scattered across more than 40 distinct cloud and on-premises storage repositories.

The merger brings automated policy-driven governance to the Nasuni File Data Platform, allowing users to scan files for PII, PHI, and PCI data in over 175 languages. According to Nick Burling, Chief Product Officer at Nasuni, the move addresses a long-standing customer pain point: the need to replace fragmented, multi-vendor solutions with a unified architecture that handles data movement, protection, and activation in one place.

DryvIQ’s technology supports discovery across 550 file formats and 1,000 document types, enabling organizations to quarantine high-risk files and enforce compliance with frameworks like GDPR and HIPAA. Mark Brazeau, founder of DryvIQ, noted that merging with Nasuni provides a cloud-native foundation for classifying and securing content wherever it resides. This acquisition follows a series of recent additions to the Nasuni platform, including edge performance tools from Resilio and permission-aware AI access features, as the company positions its infrastructure to support safer AI implementation.
