Kingsbarn Realty Capital Seeks Yosemite Land Swap for Road Access

Attorney Lanny Davis is coordinating with Yosemite National Park officials to finalize a land exchange intended to shorten access routes from the private Hazel Green property. The proposed road aims to curb vehicle emissions by eliminating long drives over unpaved forest paths, while maintaining the park’s total land area.

Kingsbarn Realty Capital acquired the 83-acre Hazel Green parcel in February 2024. Currently, the lack of a direct route forces drivers to navigate extended, unpaved forest trails to reach park entrances. Davis, representing the developer, asserts that the land swap is a procedural mechanism sanctioned by federal law and designed specifically to lower the environmental footprint of future visitors.

Project planners emphasize that the proposal remains subject to standard federal oversight, including rigorous environmental reviews and public notification protocols required by the Department of the Interior. Davis, a longtime progressive Democrat, clarified that the initiative is being handled exclusively by local park staff and operates independently of any federal political influence.
