Chairman and CEO Gary Pedersen, who operates from the company's Houston hub, framed the transition as a move from a position of strength. The new name, pronounced to rhyme with "battalion," was selected following a partnership referendum held in July 2026. The shift aims to signal a broader evolution beyond traditional oil trading, encompassing a diverse portfolio that includes biofuels, carbon credits, and an expanding metals and minerals division.
While the corporate base is moving, the company will maintain its established trading offices in Geneva, Houston, and Singapore. The transition is strictly structural; the company confirmed that all existing contracts, banking arrangements, and legal obligations remain fully intact. The redomicile process is currently moving through regulatory channels, while the global rollout of the Centalion brand will continue across the firm's international offices over the coming months. With a workforce exceeding 2,000, the company reported record trading volumes in the first half of 2026.
