The Phase 3 ICONIC-TOTAL study provides evidence that the once-daily treatment maintains skin clearance in areas often resistant to topical creams, including the scalp, genitals, hands, and feet. By week 112, 70% of participants achieved clear or almost clear skin, up from 57% at the 16-week mark. Site-specific results were particularly pronounced, with 89% of patients with genital psoriasis and 60% with scalp involvement reaching complete clearance.
Richard B. Warren, a professor of dermatology at the University of Manchester, noted that these high-impact areas often cause severe functional disability and mental health strain that standard treatments fail to address. The data suggests that ICOTYDE continues to perform without new safety signals, reinforcing its utility as a systemic therapy for adults and adolescents aged 12 and older. Johnson & Johnson continues to evaluate the peptide’s potential in broader inflammatory conditions, including psoriatic arthritis and ulcerative colitis.
