Geumsan Insamju Brings Centuries of Ginseng Craft to 2026 Trade Fair

Between October 2 and 11, the Geumsan World Ginseng Expo plaza hosts a masterclass in tradition. Agricultural Corporation Geumsan Insamju is showcasing its heritage, demonstrating the intricate, labor-intensive brewing techniques that have earned the company recognition as Korea’s Food Master No. 2 and Intangible Cultural Heritage No. 19.

The company’s approach centers on a departure from standard infusion methods. Rather than adding ginseng as an afterthought to finished spirits, Geumsan Insamju integrates the root during the initial fermentation stage alongside domestic rice and nuruk. This process, followed by vacuum distillation, creates a profile distinct from conventional ginseng-infused products. At the trade fair, visitors can witness these methods firsthand through live demonstrations led by the Food Master, offering a rare look at techniques preserved over generations.

Beyond technical demonstrations and product tastings, the event serves as a strategic launchpad for the brand's international ambitions. Geumsan Insamju is currently leveraging export voucher programs to produce multilingual promotional content and conduct market research tailored to the United States. By engaging with global buyers in Geumsan, the firm aims to refine its export strategy and position its modernized, refined product line—which now features varying alcohol content levels and contemporary packaging—as a staple for global consumers interested in authentic Korean liquor culture.
