The proposed merger moves TROOPS beyond its traditional base of mortgage lending and insurance consultancy into the sustainability sector. By integrating EFFORCE’s technology, the company plans to establish new revenue streams, specifically targeting carbon credit trading and green certificate markets. The move signals a broader transition for the Hong Kong firm as it attempts to leverage big data and blockchain to scale its financial marketplace.
Damian Thurnheer, CEO of TROOPS, stated the combination will drive innovation and value creation by pairing EFFORCE’s regulatory expertise with his firm’s existing operational presence. EFFORCE CEO Sergio Carloni echoed this sentiment, emphasizing the importance of transparent, verifiable outcomes in the energy transition. The transaction remains subject to customary regulatory approvals and closing conditions before the integration can proceed.
