Designed at the GAC Milan Design Center, the AION UT Cross emphasizes European aesthetics alongside heavy-duty safety standards. The vehicle’s construction relies on high-strength steel for 71% of its body, supplemented by a 2.1-meter V-shaped side curtain airbag and the proprietary Magazine Battery system. Its dimensions reflect a focus on utility, featuring a 2,750 mm wheelbase and 440 liters of cargo capacity that expands further with foldable rear seating.

The crossover is built to navigate varied terrain, offering 147 mm of ground clearance under full load and a chassis tuned for regional road conditions. Performance metrics include a 400 km WLTP range and rapid charging capabilities, moving from 30% to 80% battery capacity in 24 minutes. This debut aligns with GAC’s broader strategy of establishing a local footprint in Europe, joining the existing AION UT and AION V models—both of which hold five-star Euro NCAP ratings and are manufactured within the region. Future expansion plans include the introduction of the HYPTEC HT and the GAC GS7 PHEV.
