The centerpiece of this year's seasonal strategy is the Bowie80 initiative, launching in November to honor the late artist's 80th birthday. Flagship locations in Chicago, New York, and Seattle will host immersive shops featuring exclusive collections from designers such as Marc Jacobs, Paul Smith, and Undercover Jun Takahashi. The campaign's television spots will feature Bowie’s "Let's Dance," underscoring a push toward experiential, music-driven retail.
Beyond music, the retailer is scaling its physical footprint for toys through a collaboration with FAO Schwarz. Beyond the Manhattan flagship, the toy brand will occupy dedicated spaces in eight other U.S. markets. These physical retail efforts are supported by a revamped mobile application, which now includes an AI-powered "Request a Look" styling feature and an "In Store" mode designed to streamline navigation, checkout, and order pickups.
Community remains a key pillar of the holiday rollout, with the company continuing its long-standing partnership with the non-profit Shoes That Fit. Nordstrom has set a fundraising goal of $1.7 million this season, encouraged by the sale of holiday-edition Nordy pins. The retailer is also reinstating traditional in-store events, including breakfast gatherings and photo opportunities with Santa, as part of a broader effort to drive foot traffic alongside its expanded digital delivery services.
