Towa Hi System Reports Marginal Net Profit Growth in First Quarter

Towa Hi System Co. Ltd. saw its first-quarter net profit edge up to ¥136 million for the period ending December 31, a slight increase from the previous year, even as stronger revenue and operating gains were tempered by bottom-line pressures.

The Japanese software firm reported revenue of ¥632 million, a 3.4% increase over the ¥611 million recorded in the same period last year. Operating profit showed a more robust trajectory, climbing to ¥187 million from ¥170 million, according to the company’s latest financial disclosure prepared under Japanese accounting standards.

Profitability and Shareholder Returns

Pretax profit followed a similar upward trend, reaching ¥206 million compared to ¥202 million in the prior year. Despite these gains across the top and middle of the income statement, the final net profit remained nearly flat at ¥136 million. Consequently, earnings per share rose marginally to ¥61.09, up from ¥60.60 in the 2024 fiscal first quarter.

Looking ahead, the company has adjusted its outlook for shareholder returns. While the midyear dividend remains unannounced, Towa Hi System currently forecasts a year-end payout of ¥44.00 per share. This brings the projected total annual dividend to ¥88.00, representing a decrease from the ¥93.00 distributed in the previous fiscal year.
