NextPlat Expands Florida Pharmacy Footprint to Jacksonville

Directly across from HCA Florida Memorial Hospital, NextPlat Corp has opened a new PharmcoRx pharmacy at 3604 University Blvd South. The site aims to bridge the gap between traditional retail prescription services and specialized institutional care for providers, long-term facilities, and patients in the Jacksonville area.

This expansion marks the sixth retail location for the PharmcoRx unit, which has been scaling its operations across the state through a mix of new openings and strategic acquisitions. CEO David Phipps noted that the company is prioritizing communities where a combination of retail access and high-margin contracted services remains underserved. By positioning the facility near major medical practices, the firm intends to capture demand for specialized pharmacy management.

The Jacksonville site offers a broad spectrum of services, including medication management, same-day delivery, and support for the federal 340B drug pricing program. Beyond standard retail fulfillment, the pharmacy is equipped to handle complex therapy coordination and customized packaging for long-term care and assisted living residents. Chairman Rodney Barreto identified this diversification as a key driver for long-term growth, allowing the company to mitigate reliance on any single customer channel while scaling its presence in Florida’s rapidly growing markets.
