The device utilizes two distinct lenses to manage large outdoor spaces. The wide lens maintains full scene context, while the telephoto lens narrows the field of view, allowing distant objects to occupy more of the frame. In testing, the camera maintained facial recognition at 15 meters in daylight and captured vehicle-plate details at 10 meters during nighttime hours with supplemental lighting. Users view these feeds as a stacked display within the mobile app, supported by a 1–8x hybrid zoom capability.
To bridge the performance gap between battery-operated and hardwired systems, Aosu introduced two primary features. All Day Snapshots logs one image every five minutes to build a visual timeline, while Always Ready Vision maintains a low-power, one-frame-per-second stream to accelerate motion-triggered recording. The camera is rated IP65 for weather resistance and includes 360-degree pan-and-tilt tracking, which remains powered by a detached solar panel to ensure continuous operation regardless of the camera's orientation toward the sun.
Nighttime security is managed through either infrared or color vision, the latter of which triggers a spotlight to capture accurate color data. For active deterrence, the system features a red warning light and a siren, alongside two-way audio. The SolarCam T2 is currently available through Amazon and the company's direct website, targeting users who require detailed monitoring for broad yards, long driveways, and detached property structures.
