The company’s latest exhibition centered on a suite of sensors, including the 8.3MP SC860AT for forward-facing cameras and the 5MP SC533AT for occupant monitoring. By pairing these sensors with SoCs from its subsidiary Flyingchip, SmartSens aims to improve how vehicles track surroundings and internal cabin activity, even in challenging lighting conditions. During live demonstrations, the 3MP SC360AT sensor demonstrated an ability to suppress glare and preserve shadow detail, a critical requirement for 360-degree surround-view systems in complex environments.
Toby Zou, co-general manager of SmartSens' Automotive Business Group, emphasized that as the industry pushes toward higher levels of automation, the performance of CMOS image sensors in complex scenarios becomes the primary bottleneck for system perception. His keynote address detailed a strategy of deep integration, where pixel architecture and high dynamic range technology are optimized at the system level to support mass-market deployment in next-generation vehicles.
