Genesis Joins Habitat LA to Accelerate Wildfire Recovery Efforts

More than 500 volunteers gathered in Pacific Palisades and Malibu this September to rebuild homes lost to Southern California’s 2025 wildfires. Among them, Genesis employees joined the ReBUILD LA initiative as the official automotive sponsor, marking a new phase in the company’s long-term commitment to regional disaster recovery.

The four-day Community Build, held from September 23 to 26, saw corporate teams and civic leaders working alongside wildfire survivors to accelerate the return to normalcy for impacted neighborhoods. This collaboration is a core component of California Rises, a relief program launched by Genesis, TGR Live, and the PGA TOUR following the devastating blazes in January 2025. The initiative focuses on sustained community support rather than temporary aid, a mandate that drove Genesis to pledge an additional $1 million this year toward local recovery projects.

Tedros Mengiste, COO of Genesis Motor North America, emphasized that the brand’s involvement aims to translate financial backing into tangible labor. This sentiment was echoed by Erin Rank, president and CEO of Habitat for Humanity of Greater Los Angeles, who noted that the partnership provides essential momentum for families facing the long road toward home reconstruction. Beyond the physical build, Genesis has integrated its support across several local organizations, including the Los Angeles Fire Department Foundation and the Genesis Inspiration Foundation.
