Taoping Faces Nasdaq Delisting Risk Over Share Price Slump

Thirty consecutive business days of trading below the one-dollar threshold have triggered a formal warning from Nasdaq for Taoping Inc. The Tianjin-based provider of smart city and IoT solutions now faces a ticking clock to restore its share price or risk removal from the exchange by April 2027.

The company received notification on October 13, 2026, confirming it no longer meets the minimum bid price requirement mandated by Listing Rule 5550(a)(2). While this status does not immediately halt trading of the company's shares under the ticker TAOP, it initiates a 180-day compliance window. To satisfy Nasdaq requirements, Taoping must ensure its stock maintains a closing price of at least US$1.00 for ten consecutive business days before the April 12, 2027, deadline.

Management is currently evaluating options to rectify the deficiency, which may include a reverse stock split. Failure to regain compliance by the spring deadline could lead to a second 180-day grace period, provided the company meets other listing standards. However, the situation carries a significant caveat: if the stock price drops to US$0.10 or lower for ten consecutive trading days, Nasdaq is authorized to issue an immediate delisting determination.
