Mullen Group Expands Customs Footprint with Willson International Buy

Mullen Group is moving to acquire Willson International, a century-old customs brokerage and trade compliance firm, to bolster its North American logistics network. The deal integrates a company with 330 employees and proprietary trade technology into Mullen’s existing customs platform, signaling a strategic effort to scale its specialized logistics capabilities.

The transaction, for which financial terms remain undisclosed, is projected to add approximately 80 million Canadian dollars ($56.6 million) to Mullen Group's annual revenue. Murray Mullen, chair and senior executive officer, noted the rarity of acquiring a business with such a deep-rooted history and specialized industry expertise. This acquisition complements the services currently provided by Cole International, further diversifying the company’s supply-chain reach.

Willson International will maintain its status as a standalone business under the Mullen umbrella. The firm's Canadian operations will be integrated into the Logistics & Warehousing segment, while its U.S. presence will transition into the U.S. & International unit. The deal is slated to close during the fourth quarter.
