Lam Research Revenue Surges 54% on Asian AI Chip Demand

The company posted a quarterly profit of $2.75 billion, or $2.19 per share, marking a significant increase from the $1.57 billion reported during the same period last year. Adjusted earnings reached $2.20 per share, edging past the $2.18 consensus estimate from FactSet analysts. Chief Executive Tim Archer attributed the gains to the rising complexity of devices and the surge in semiconductor manufacturing requirements essential for AI development.

Geographic distribution remains heavily concentrated in East Asia, with China accounting for over one-third of total revenue, followed by Korea at 20% and Taiwan at 18%. Looking ahead, Lam Research issued a positive outlook for the second quarter, projecting revenue to reach $8.60 billion at the midpoint. This guidance aligns with analyst forecasts of $8.57 billion, reinforcing confidence in the company’s ability to outpace broader wafer fabrication equipment market growth.
