Nasdaq Earnings Surge on Financial Technology Momentum

With 59 new listings raising nearly $120 billion this year, Nasdaq is eclipsing the New York Stock Exchange in the race for market dominance. The exchange’s latest quarterly results highlight this shift, as surging demand for financial technology and capital access platforms pushed net income to $540 million.

Nasdaq Earnings Surge on Financial Technology Momentum

The company reported earnings of 96 cents a share for the third quarter, a substantial jump from the 73 cents recorded during the same period last year. On an adjusted basis, Nasdaq reached $1.04 per share, narrowly outperforming the $1.02 consensus target set by Wall Street analysts. Total revenue climbed 21% to $2.39 billion, while revenue excluding transaction-based expenses reached $1.48 billion, edging past estimates.

Driving these gains was the solutions business, which saw a 17% revenue increase to $1.17 billion, bolstered by robust activity in capital access platforms. In contrast, market services revenue grew more modestly, rising 2% to $309 million. Looking ahead, the company expects non-GAAP operating expenses to settle between $2.55 billion and $2.58 billion for the full year. This performance comes as the AI investment boom continues to favor Nasdaq’s platform, which has secured significantly more capital than the NYSE’s $20 billion haul across 32 listings.
