NovaBridge Advances Phase 2 Gastric Cancer Trial for Givastomig
NovaBridge Biosciences has initiated a Phase 2 clinical trial for givastomig, dosing the first patient in a study targeting HER2-negative metastatic gastric cancer. The company expects to report top-line data from the trial, which combines the drug with nivolumab and chemotherapy, by 2027.

The mid-stage study evaluates the efficacy of givastomig as a first-line treatment for patients with metastatic gastric cancer who do not overexpress the HER2 protein. By integrating the drug with standard chemotherapy and the immunotherapy nivolumab, NovaBridge aims to establish a more effective therapeutic regimen for this difficult-to-treat patient population.
Clinical Foundations and Market Outlook
The decision to advance the program follows encouraging data from a Phase 1b study. According to the company, that trial demonstrated several key clinical benchmarks:
A 75% objective response rate among participants.
A median progression-free survival of 16.9 months.
A favorable overall safety and tolerability profile.
NovaBridge is targeting a rapidly expanding oncology segment, estimating the global market for gastric cancer treatments will reach $12 billion by 2030. The current Phase 2 study is designed to confirm whether the high response rates seen in early testing can be replicated in a larger, more diverse patient group.
