Kalshi bolsters surveillance team with former FBI analyst

Facing mounting scrutiny over insider trading, prediction market Kalshi has recruited former FBI intelligence analyst Tyler Neff to its surveillance division. Neff, who spent seven years focusing on white-collar crime at the bureau's New York field office, joins the exchange to strengthen oversight of increasingly volatile betting patterns.

Neff began his tenure at the firm earlier this month, reporting directly to head of enforcement and legal counsel Robert DeNault. His arrival marks a strategic expansion for the platform, which has aggressively scouted talent from established financial institutions like Nasdaq and Morgan Stanley throughout the year to fortify its compliance infrastructure.

This hiring push coincides with a sharp rise in suspicious activity across the sector. Kalshi has already flagged more than 400 questionable trades since January—a figure that doubles the platform's total investigations for the entirety of last year. The urgency follows recent high-profile criminal charges, including a Justice Department case against a Google engineer accused of leveraging inside information to manipulate bets on Polymarket.
