Peers Co. Profit Dips Despite Double-Digit Revenue Growth

Peers Co. Ltd. saw its net profit slide to 237 million yen for the half-year ending March 31, falling short of the 251 million yen recorded during the same period last year. Despite the bottom-line decline, the Tokyo-listed company managed to expand its top-line revenue significantly over the six-month window.

Peers Co. Profit Dips Despite Double-Digit Revenue Growth

The Japanese firm reported revenue of 3.67 billion yen, a notable increase from the 3.12 billion yen generated in the prior year. Efficiency gains were also evident in the company's operating performance, which climbed to 356 million yen from 314 million yen. Furthermore, pretax profit showed robust momentum, rising to 397 million yen compared to 298 million yen previously.

These gains were offset by bottom-line pressures, resulting in earnings per share of 26.14 yen, down from 26.87 yen a year earlier. Diluted earnings remained relatively stable at 25.43 yen, compared to the 25.55 yen reported in the previous fiscal cycle. These results were prepared in accordance with Japanese accounting standards.
