The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration confirmed the recall impacts several high-volume models, specifically Honda Pilot SUVs from 2016 through 2022, Ridgeline pickups from 2017 to 2023, and Passport SUVs from 2019 to 2023. The safety campaign also includes Acura MDX models manufactured between 2014 and 2020 that were originally sold or registered in states where road salt usage is common, such as Connecticut, Illinois, Massachusetts, New York, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin.
To address the defect, dealership technicians are instructed to inspect the affected subframes for structural integrity. Depending on the level of corrosion discovered during the evaluation, mechanics will either install a reinforcement kit or replace the damaged components entirely. These repairs will be performed at no cost to owners, who are expected to receive official notification of the recall process shortly.
