Summit Hotel Properties CFO Trey Conkling to Depart

After five years with the company, Summit Hotel Properties Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer William "Trey" Conkling is stepping down. The departure, effective June 15, 2026, comes for personal reasons and follows a tenure that the firm’s leadership characterized as highly productive for the hotel investment trust.

To ensure stability during the leadership change, Conkling will serve in an advisory capacity until September 30, 2026. President and CEO Jonathan Stanner will take on the responsibilities of principal financial officer on an interim basis while the company utilizes a national search firm to identify a permanent successor. Summit Hotel Properties explicitly stated that this resignation does not stem from any disagreements regarding the company’s operations, financial disclosures, or accounting practices.

Based in Austin, Texas, the company operates a portfolio of 94 lodging assets comprising 14,226 guestrooms across 24 states. Stanner expressed gratitude for Conkling’s contributions, while the outgoing executive noted his confidence in the company’s current direction as he prepares to finalize his transition period.
