Datasea Begins FDA Compliance Process for Acoustic BCI Device

Datasea Intelligent Technology Ltd. has initiated the regulatory groundwork for its acoustic brain-computer interface product by submitting a DUNS application. This administrative filing marks the first step in the Beijing-based company’s effort to secure U.S. FDA establishment registration and device listing as it seeks to expand internationally.

The proposed device differentiates itself from invasive brain-computer interfaces by utilizing a non-invasive approach that combines acoustic stimulation, bone-conduction neuromodulation, EEG signal acquisition, and AI-driven health management. Datasea envisions the technology serving a range of neurological functions, including cognitive monitoring, sleep optimization, and emotional regulation. By avoiding surgical implantation, the company aims to improve safety profiles and user accessibility, potentially lowering barriers to commercial scaling.

CEO Zhixin Liu described the move as a critical milestone in the firm's broader strategy to integrate acoustic intelligence into the medical sector. While the company is actively preparing technical documentation and product testing protocols, it has not yet received FDA clearance or authorization for commercial distribution in the United States. Management noted that the current regulatory path remains subject to shifting timelines and review outcomes, emphasizing that the initial administrative registration does not equate to market approval.
