The studio combines KBR’s deep-rooted process technology expertise with Applied Computing’s Orbital Platform, a foundation model specifically engineered for the energy sector. By housing operational specialists and engineering teams under one roof, the company aims to accelerate the deployment of AI-driven diagnostics. The facility serves as the command center for the rollout of INSITE 3.0, which is scheduled to reach its initial wave of global customers later this year.
During the launch event, KBR leadership and engineering teams conducted live demonstrations of the platform’s capabilities. Hari Ravindran, SVP and Global Head of Technology Solutions at KBR, described the studio as a long-term commitment to the region’s technical talent. Dan Jeavons, President of Applied Computing, highlighted the strategic importance of the Indian market, noting that the country’s rapid adoption of advanced technology makes it an ideal testing ground for high-scale industrial AI. The collaboration seeks to refine how refineries and industrial plants manage complex operations through real-time, data-backed oversight.
