Chicago Secures Exclusive Prime Day Travel Partnership

For the first time, Chicago is positioning itself as an exclusive travel destination via Amazon’s Prime Day, offering travelers 20% discounts on local hotel stays. The initiative, running from June 23 to June 26, aims to capture millions of shoppers by integrating destination bookings directly into the global e-commerce giant’s shopping experience.

The partnership, coordinated by Choose Chicago, utilizes Expedia to power bookings for a diverse range of properties, including the Fairmont Chicago, Millennium Park and the LondonHouse Chicago. Travelers can lock in these discounted rates for stays extending into the first quarter of 2027, with early-access deals already offering 10% off at select locations.

Kristen Reynolds, CEO of Choose Chicago, described the move as a high-visibility strategy to compete on a global scale and drive immediate economic impact for city businesses. The campaign arrives during a significant year for the city, marked by the opening of the Obama Presidential Center and the centennial celebrations of Route 66. Local hoteliers, including Nick OrRico of the Fairmont, view the collaboration as a vital tool to showcase the city's seasonal offerings—from summer music festivals in Grant Park to the winter Christkindlmarket—to a massive, captive digital audience.
