By leveraging a unified platform running on Google Cloud, providers maintain their existing APIs and developer workflows while meeting stringent security mandates. This approach bypasses the traditional requirement to build separate, government-only environments, which often forces vendors to retrain engineering teams and manage complex, dual-track systems.
Knox Systems has already successfully transitioned over 50 organizations, including SierraAI, Celonis, and Armis, into the federal market. The platform’s automated compliance boundary shifts the burden of FedRAMP accreditation away from the vendor, enabling rapid innovation cycles for defense and civilian agencies. According to Josh Dries, Head of ISV Partners at Google Public Sector, the goal is to bridge the technology gap by allowing agencies to utilize the same cutting-edge tools as the private sector. Knox CEO Irina Denisenko noted that this integration effectively removes the multi-year compliance barriers that previously locked top-tier software companies out of federal contracts.
