West Texas Intermediate futures plummeted 5.8% to $76.05 a barrel today, marking the first time prices have settled below the $80 threshold since March. The company confirmed plans to increase spending on oil and gas projects while simultaneously bolstering shareholder returns. Part of this commitment includes a significant expansion of its 2026 share buyback program, which will now reach $3 billion.
