Panera Bread Revamps Summer Menu Under RISE Transformation Strategy

Panera Bread is rolling out a nationwide menu overhaul today, marking a significant step in its RISE transformation strategy. The expansion introduces a new category of chef-curated Market Bowls starting at $9.99, alongside premium salads and an upgraded cold beverage platform designed to drive value across its 2,254 bakery-cafes.

The new lineup emphasizes ingredient quality and protein-rich options, signaling a shift toward more substantial offerings. Central to this update are three Market Bowls—Sesame Ginger Chicken, Carnitas Elote, and All-In Veggie—which feature new proteins like slow-roasted pulled pork and seasoned diced chicken. To complement these, Panera has introduced premium salads, including the Ultimate Garden Steak and Shrimply Baja, both utilizing a refreshed pantry of ingredients and specialized dressings.

Beyond lunch and dinner, the company is diversifying its beverage and breakfast selections. The cold drink menu now includes a Frozen Java platform available in flavors like Snickerdoodle and Rocky Road, alongside new fruit-forward Energy Refreshers. For morning commuters, Panera has added crustless frittatas, such as the Broccoli Cheddar and Five Cheese & Bacon varieties, aiming to capture the portable breakfast market. According to CEO Paul Carbone, these changes are intended to provide a more vibrant and flavorful experience while maintaining competitive value for guests.
