The initiative marks a strategic shift for the Japanese materials firm, moving beyond individual product development toward a shared ecosystem. By aligning with organizations such as Woolmark, the Südwolle Group’s GTI division, Mister Joe, and CM Tessuti, I.S.T aims to bridge the gap between raw fiber innovation and finished commercial textiles. Each partner brings specialized capabilities, ranging from high-end yarn production to the integration of sustainable practices in industrial manufacturing.
This collaborative network will make its public debut at two major industry events: Pitti Filati in Florence, held June 24–26, and Milano Unica, scheduled for July 7–9. These exhibitions will serve as the primary showcase for the latest collections featuring the treated Merino wool. By integrating the perspectives of designers, producers, and researchers, the platform seeks to standardize high-performance material solutions while providing brands with greater creative flexibility for future collections.
