Reisbord joined the engineering and design firm in 2021 following the acquisition of Cardno, where she previously served as CEO. Her tenure at Stantec moved quickly; she initially led the environmental services business line before ascending to the role of chief operating officer for the company’s North American division in 2025. This division currently stands as the firm's largest geographic operating unit.

Following the leadership shift, Johnston will remain involved with the organization by transitioning to the role of vice chair while retaining his seat on the board. The handover is set to take effect at the start of the fourth quarter.
